Harley-Davidson X 440 India Launch Date, All Key Details

Harley-Davidson X 440, the first motorcycle under Harley’s and Hero MotoCorp partnership, recently made its global debut. The company has confirmed that the model will go on sale in India on 3rd July 2023. Here, it will be put up against the Royal Enfield Classic 350 that’s priced Rs 1.93 lakh onwards. The new Harley Davidson bike is estimated to cost around Rs 2 lakh, thus making it the most affordable offering from the American bikemaker in India.

Here’re some key details of the new Harley-Davidson’s made-in-India bike.

– For power, the Harley-Davidson X 440 uses a 440cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine. While the company hasn’t yet revealed its official power and torque figures, the motor is likely to deliver power worth around 30bhp and 40Nm of torque. It’s likely to be more powerful and torqueier than RE Classic 350 that returns 20bhp and 27Nm. Similar to the Harley Pan America, it has a chain drive.

– Suspension duties are done by USD front forks and Bybre, twin shock absorbers at the rear. The new Harley bike has a single disc at both ends along with the dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). It has been assembled with the 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloys with MRF tyres. The bike sits on the tubular trellis frame.

– Unlike other bikes, the new Harley-Davidson X 440 has mid-set footpegs and flat handlebar. Some of its design elements seem inspired by the Harley-Davidson’s Nightster such as round headlight with LED DRL bar running across the centre and a round speedo on the top, muscular fuel tank and wide handlebars. The bike has circular indicators and mirrors, while the taillamp is oval-shaped.
