Harley Davidson 250-500cc Motorcycles For India Confirmed

The Harley Davidson new motorcycles will come in the range of 250cc to 500cc and will be developed in India at the company’s Bawal plant, Haryana

Harley-Davidson, the American two-wheeler maker has announced a four-year strategy, which includes introduction of new-gen models and entering into new segments. The company’s strategy has a dedicated focus on the Indian and emerging Asian markets. Besides, Harley has also showcased 3 new product concepts that will be based on a new modular middleweight platform (500cc to 1250cc).

Harley-Davidson has also announced that it will launch its first electric motorcycle, the Harley-Davidson LiveWire in early 2019. The brand will introduce 3 new bikes in 2020 – an adventure motorcycle, a custom bike and a naked streetfighter. The adventure touring motorcycle will be the Harley Davidson Pan America 1250, while the other two are a 975cc Streetfighter and a 1250cc custom motorcycle.

Besides these, the company will introduce new models on the modular platform in 2022. Harley also stated that they are planning to launch a total of 16 middleweight motorcycles globally, which includes a scrambler, flat tracker and a faired sportsbike. For Indian market, Harley Davidson will introduce a small-displacement motorcycle. This motorcycle will be designed primarily to focus on the emerging Indian and Asian markets. The new motorcycles will be offered in the range of 250cc to 500cc. The new bikes will be developed in India at the company’s Bawal plant in Haryana. Harley Davidson hasn’t revealed the launch date of these new motorcycles for India. However, a possible launch around 2021 can’t be ignored. The American two-wheeler giant will also invest hugely in electric segment. Besides LiveWire electric, Harley will launch a range of electric bikes by 2022. The range will include light and accessible electric two-wheelers, and an electric-assist bicycle. In order to further improve sales, Harley will expand its dealership network along with strategic tie-ups with online global e-commerce firms.
