Great Wall Motors’ Havel H6 Might Rival Hector & Harrier

We have reported earlier that China’s major auto manufacturer – Great Wall Motors – might enter India with its Havel SUV brand. The company will showcase its model lineup at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo and its first product launch will take place sometime in 2021. The Chinese carmaker might begin its Indian operations with the Havel H6 mid-size SUV.

If launched in India, the Havel H6 will take head-to-head against the cars like Jeep Compass, MG Hector, Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV500. Its prices are likely to start from Rs 15 lakh.

Globally, the Havel H6 has been made available with two diesel engine options – a 1.5L and a 2.0L – matched to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The smaller capacity motor generates a peak power of 161bhp and a maximum torque of 280Nm, the larger unit is good for 187.4bhp and 340Nm. The SUV comes with FWD (front-wheel-drive) system. Interior of the Havel H6 comes packed with lots of goodies. It has a 9-inch infotainment system along with a 12.3-inch instrument display. The SUV also offers a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, keyless entry with push button start, heated steering wheel and powered front seats.

On the safety front, the Havel H6 offers lane departure warning, blind spot detection, rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability program and cross traffic alert.

The SUV measures 4610mm in length, 1860mm in width and 1720mm in height with a wheelbase of 2690mm. It has a ground clearance of 161mm. Globally, the Havel H6 comes in a choice of five colours – Hamilton White, Cocoa Brown, Crystal Black, Mars Red and Camey Blue.

Some of its key design highlights include projector headlamps, horizontal-chrome slat grille, fog lamps with chrome housing, , side body cladding, dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights connected by a chrome strip, sporty rear bumper and dual exhausts.
