Fuel Efficiency (Mileage) – Diesel Venue Vs Nexon Vs EcoSport Vs XUV300
In February 2020, the South Korean carmaker introduced the BS6-compliant Hyundai Venue diesel with 1.5L motor. The new oil burner has been introduced as a replacement to the 1.4L diesel engine. The Venue’s new diesel unit, with a 6-speed manual gearbox, returns a claimed power of 99bhp against 240Nm of torque. Recently, the mileage figure of the BS6 Hyundai Venue diesel has been revealed.
According to a media report, the updated Venue diesel delivers an ARAI-certified mileage of 23.3kmpl. Compared to its BS4 diesel model, the fuel efficiency has been dropped by a margin of 0.4kmpl. Though, the Hyundai Venue 1.5 diesel is more fuel economical than all of its rivals including Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300.

Tata Nexon diesel comes with a 1.5 turbocharged motor that’s good enough for 110bhp and 260Nm of torque. It promises a fuel efficiency of 22.4kmpl. The subcompact SUV has been offered with a 6-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. The Ford EcoSport diesel, on the other hand, is powered by a 1.5L turbo unit producing a peak power of 100bhp against 215Nm of torque. Powering the Mahindra XUV300 diesel is a 1.5L turbo motor generating power worth 117bhp and 300Nm of torque. This makes it the most powerful vehicle in its segment. Available with both manual and AMT gearbox, the subcompact SUV returns a mileage of 20kmpl.
The BS6 Hyundai Venue diesel manual is relatively more affordable than the diesel-manual Nexon, EcoSport and XUV300 models. Prices of the Venue diesel-MT start from Rs 8.10 lakh and go up to Rs 11.40 lakh. The Nexon and EcoSport are priced between Rs 8.45 lakh – Rs 12.10 lakh and Rs 8.54 lakh – Rs 11.67 lakh respectively.
