Ford India has registered a total sales of 20,828 units in the month of June 2017. The aforementioned figures include domestic sales of 6,149 units and exports of 14,679 vehicles. As against the corresponding month last year, the American carmaker has sold 1,074 more vehicles in June 2017. While the export business grew by 4,394 units, the domestic market has witnessed a drop of 3,320 units. Myth or Reality – Ford Cars Have High Maintenance Costs in India
Besides this, the carmaker’s highly popular compact SUV – Ford EcoSport has once again become Most Dependable SUV in India according to the J.D. Power 2017 India Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS). The Study measures problems experienced by owners of 30-to-42 months-old vehicles for 169 different problem symptoms across nine vehicle categories.
From the study, Ford EcoSport registered the least problems compared to the industry average, to be ranked highest in the SUV category. Ford EcoSport was previously ranked highest in the SUV category in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study for two consecutive years. The American carmaker’s pre-owned business vertical – Ford Assured has also reached 200th showroom milestone in India.
Commenting on the sales figures, Anurag Mehrotra, managing director, Ford India, said, “GST is a step in the right direction, and expected to strengthen economic growth. Leading up to this biggest tax reform, the month of June saw moderated wholesales as the industry looked to protect itself from the possible impact.”
