Ford Motor Company has launched a new affordable automatic variant of the Ford EcoSport. Called the EcoSport Titanium AT (Automatic), the new variant is available at a price tag of Rs 10.66 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Before this variant, the automatic gearbox option was available in the top-spec EcoSport Titanium Plus variant. The Titanium Plus AT is priced at Rs 11.56 lakh, which makes it 90,000 expensive than the new Titanium AT. With more affordable AT option, Ford is looking at Brezza 1.5 AT and Venue DCT buyers.
The Ford EcoSport Titanium AT is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that is capable of producing 120bhp of power and 149Nm of torque. This engine is paired to a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, which also come with paddle shifters.
The EcoSport Titanium AT is also equipped with decent comfort and convenience features such as cruise control, engine start/stop button, touchscreen infotainment system, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), hill launch assist, etc. This new variant also gets the FordPass smartphone application, which allows user to remotely start/stop the engine or lock/unlock the vehicle.
This variant misses out on features like side and curtain airbags, rear arm-rest with cup holders, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, sunroof, rear split seat and others. The new Ford EcoSport BS6 comes with a 3 year or 1 lakh kilometers standard warranty and a longer service intervals of 10,000km.
