First Spy Pictures of New Yezdi Bike Reveal Details

Recently, a test mule of a new retro-classic scrambler motorcycle was caught on camera during its test rounds on the Pune-Nashik highway. The model is likely to be the Jawa Scrambler or the new Yezdi bike that will be brought under Classic Legends in coming years. While the prototype seems to be in its early stages, one can notice its typical scrambler characteristics including high riding position, dual purpose tyres and highly positioned shocks.

As of now details of the upcoming Jawa scrambler or Yezdi motorcycle are scanty. Though, it’s likely to be packed with advanced goodies such as a digital console, LED headlight and taillight and dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). The spy pictures also reveal that the bike will feature a liquid-cooled engine with twin silencers.

Rumour has it that Classic Legends will revive the Yezdi brand with three new motorcycles. These models might share platform, powertrain and several other components with the existing Jawa bikes. This will help the bikemaker to cut down the production cost. In fact, the upcoming Yezdi bikes are reported to undercut the existing Jawa motorcycles.

As mentioned above, the new Yezdi bike is likely to be powered by a new 293cc, single-cylinder engine that does duty in the Jawas. The company might also use a new Mojo based motor. The original Yezdi motorcycle was packed with a 250cc, 2-stroke, air-cooled engine generating power worth 13bhp and 20.5Nm of torque. Once launched, the upcoming new Yezdi bike will be placed against the newly-launched Honda CB350RS and the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350.

More details about the upcoming new Yezdi bike and Jawa Scrambler are likely to be reveled in near future. Stay tuned to IndiaCarNews.
