Similar to the SsangYong XLV, the Mahindra S204 will be based on the stretched Tivoli platform. Engine details of the SUV are still under the wraps. It’s likely to come with the Marazzo’s 1.5L, 4-cylinder diesel engine that’s good for 121bhp and 300Nm of torque. Rumour also has it that it might get a 1.5L turbocharged T-GDI petrol engine that will also be introduced on the Marazzo MPV lineup sometime next year.
In terms of proportions, the SsangYong XLV measures 4440mm in length, 1798mm in width and 1635mm in height with a wheelbase of 2600mm. The Mahindra S204 is likely to carry the same dimensions. The new compact SUV from the home-grown carmaker might debut in its concept avatar at the 2020 Auto Expo.
