First Sketches of 2020 Skoda Octavia Revealed; Debut Next Month
The Czech carmaker has released the first design sketches of the new-generation Skoda Octavia sedan ahead of its global debut. Upfront, the 2020 Skoda Octavia features a larger grille, a single headlamps with matrix LED technology instead of the split design, revised bumper with LED fog lamps and the Superb-inspired new clamshell bonnet.
The rear section will be revised with Audi-like wraparound LED taillights extending to the boot-lid and newly-designed tailgate. The 2020 Skoda Octavia will sit on the same MQB platform. On the engine front, the 2020 Skoda Octavia will get an updated version of the 1.0L, 3-cylinder petrol motor that will be available only on the lower variants. The bigger capacity engine will be boosted with 48V mild hybrid technology. In India, the sedan could be made available with petrol engine only. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
