Fiat Toro pick-up based SUV is scheduled to be unveiled as a concept at the 2018 Sao Paulo Motor Show in November

We informed you earlier that Fiat is working on a big 7-seater premium SUV, which is reportedly to be called Fiat Toro. It is now confirmed that the SUV’s concept version will be unveiled at the 2018 Sao Paulo Motor Show, which will be held in November.

The Italian brand has released a video, featuring Peter Fassbender, Design Head, FCA Latin America talking about the new product. He said that the new model “is unheard of and will be surprising.” The sketches reveal a concept car featuring short rear overhang and a raked roofline. The concept could preview a large coupe-crossover.

The Fiat Toro SUV concept is likely to share design cues with the Toro pick-up. The SUV is likely to come with aggressive creases, dual-headlamp setup and bigger daytime running lamps. Inside the cabin, the SUV is most likely to sport an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. Engine options for the Fiat Toro SUV will include a 2.0-litre Tigershark Flex and 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed torque convertor for petrol & a 9-speed automatic unit for diesel. The company could also launch the five-seater model, which could receive a 1.8-litre E.torQ motor. Also See – Fiat Toro 7-Seater SUV Will Use Jeep Compass Platform

The flex-fuel engine is capable of producing 159bhp/195Nm and 164bhp/201Nm with petrol and ethanol respectively. The oil burner is good for 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. This is the same engine that also powers the Jeep Compass. The Fiat Toro SUV is not likely to come in India as FCA decided to focus on Jeep products to strengthen its market share. For people not in the know, Jeep is also working on a 7-seater SUV for Indian market. Except Jeep’s 7-seater model to share features & design cues from the Toro SUV.
