Italian automaker Fiat has released a new teaser of the Avventura crossover hatchback ahead of its official launch this festive season. The teaser image shows the projector headlights of the car, also visible are the grille and bumper in the background. Based on the Fiat Punto platform, the Avventura will get some aggressive body parts and higher ground clearance of 210mm. The high ground clearance will give it a sporty stance.
Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show as concept, the Avventura is basically a jagged up version of the Punto. The production version of the crossover looks identical to the concept shown back in February. The vehicle gets tailgate mounted spare wheels, extra body cladding, protective skid plates, large alloys and roof rails.
The Avventura will be manufactures at the company’s manufacturing unit in Ranjangaon and it will be exported to other developing nations. In India, the cross hatch will compete against the likes of Volkswagen Cross Polo and the Toyota Etios Cross. It will share its engine configuration with the Punto facelift- a 89bhp, 1.4-litre FIRE petrol and the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel that develops 91bhp. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a six-speed gear shifter or a standard five-speed manual transmission.
