Ferrari, the Italian sportscar manufacturer, has introduced the 812 Superfast with new V12 engine in the Indian market. Priced at a whopping Rs 5.20 crore (ex-showroom), this new sportscar comes as a replacement to the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. At the heart of the Ferrari 812 Superfast is a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine churning out a maximum power of 789bhp and 719Nm of peak torque. Available exclusively with rear wheel drive system, this front-mounted V12 motor can do 0-100kmph in just 2.9 seconds, while delivering a top speed of 340kmph. Ferrari cars are known for their stunning looks and the new 812 Superfast isn’t an exception here. Based on the retuned chassis, the sportscar carries a more mature and aggressive look than the old F12. Styling bits such as full-LED headlamps integrated into sculpted air intakes, active aero front bumper, a swooping and long bonnet, three dimensional flanks, muscular wheel arches and round taillights add more to its sporty appearance. There is a significant improvement in the aerodynamic coefficient values.
The Ferrari 812 Superfast is the first car from the Italian carmaker to feature the electric power steering. It also gets Ferrari’s Slide Slip Control technology offering greater longitudinal acceleration out of corners. Braking system of the sportscar includes 398mm front and 360mm rear brakes along with high-performance ABS/EBD. Ferrari is also offering a range of personalisation programme with the 812 Superfast including updated telemetry system, an advanced audio system with 12 speakers and a 1,280Watt amplifier with Quantum Logic system, etc.
