We informed you earlier that the new Hyundai Elantra facelift will make its debut in August 2018. Ahead of its official debut, clear leaked images of the Elantra facelift have surfaced online. It is expected to be launched in India in 2019. The updated model will receive cosmetic changes to exterior as well interior.
In terms of styling tweaks, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra facelift gets a revised front fascia. It gets a wide grille finished in black, triangular headlamps with projectors and L-shaped LED daytime running lights. The revised bumper accommodates triangular fog lamps, air-dams and silver trim. At the back, the 2019 Elantra facelift gets revised boot lid, wraparound tail-lights and a dual-tone bumper with integrated reflectors and reverse lamps. The licensing plate is now moved to the bumper.
The Korean-spec Elantra facelift will receive the SmartStream G1.6 petrol engine that produces 123PS of power at 6,300rpm and a peak torque of 154Nm at 4,500rpm. It will also get the SmartStream IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission). Besides, the updated model will come with the same set of engines as the current car. In India, the Elantra is available with 2 engine options – 1.6-litre 4-cylinder diesel and a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol. While the former is good for 126bhp and 260Nm, the gasoline unit produces 150bhp and 192Nm of torque. Both engines are offered with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
