EeVe India, an Odisha-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has introduced its flagship electric scooter in the country. Called the EeVe Soul, the electric model has been priced at Rs 1.40 lakh. Besides launching the Soul, the company has revealed its plan to invest up to Rs 1,000 crore over the next two years. With this huge investment, EeVe will roll out new products, establish charging infrastructure, improve production capacity and expand its sales network.
It aims to achieve sales target of 50,000 units in the next couple of years and hold a 10 per cent market share in the electric two-wheeler segment. Currently, EeVe has 150 dealerships and 300 sub-dealers across the country. The company’s Odisha-based facility has an annual production capacity of 3 lakh units, which will be increased to 5 lakh units per annum in coming years. At present, EeVe sells 6 electric two-wheelers in India including low-speed models.
Talking about its powertrain, the new EeVe Soul electric scooter comes with two 2.2kWh lithium ferrous phosphate (LFP) batteries offering a claimed combined range of 120km (only in the first or Eco mode) and a top speed of 40kmph. In the second and third modes, the electric scooter offers a maximum speed of up to 50kmph and 60kmph respectively.
Its battery packs, which are placed in the boot space instead of the floor board, are removable and swappable. That means, one can charge it via regular power socket at home or office. The batteries take around 3-4 hours to get fully charged. The company is offering a 3 year standard warranty with the electric scooter.
The EeVe Soul electric scooter comes with features such as GPS navigation, IOT functions, USB port, anti-theft lock system, geo-tagging and geo-fencing, reverse mode, keyless experience and central braking system. Some of its other key features include LED DRLs, alloy wheels with 90 section 12-inch tubeless tyres, disc brakes and CBS (combined braking system).
