New Ford EcoSport S Variant to Get Additional Features Including Sunroof

New Ford EcoSport Launched in India

The Ford EcoSport S variant will get several high-end features such as sunroof, gun metal-finished alloy wheels, blackened treatment for headlamps and grille, etc

In a bid to lure more buyers, Ford India is planning a new top-of-the-line variant of the company’s top-selling car EcoSport. To be called Ford EcoSport S, it would be made available in Titanium and Titanium+ trim levels. Though, there is no official word on its launch yet, we can expect it to be rolled out sometime next month. This month Ford India will launch Freestyle, the Figo-based crossover (watch its review here).

As mentioned at the start of the article, the 2018 Ford EcoSport S will be the new to-end variant and thus will come with some extra features. On the outside, it will receive smoked/blackened headlamps, blacked out grille, slightly revised fog lamps, gun metal-finished alloy wheels and new dual-tone colour that would give it a slightly different look than the regular model. On the inside as well, we will see some changes like body-coloured accents and chrome finish on the instrument cluster, new multi-information display but the most significant one would be the addition of sunroof. So with the sunroof, the EcoSport has become the second vehicle in its class to get it after Honda WR-V and we think it would attract a lot of buyers. Read – New Ford EcoSport 2017 Review – Much More Than A Mid-life Facelift!

Engine will be similar to the regular models i.e. 1.5-litre 3-cylinder petrol (121bhp, 150Nm) and 1.5-litre 4-cylinder TDCi diesel (99bhp, 215Nm). But the petrol model will get a new 6-speed manual gearbox to handle the power better and return better fuel efficiency especially on highways. We are still not sure about the gear ratios though, and we can only comment on its performance only after we test drives it. Besides the new features mentioned above, the Ford EcoSport S will offer all the variants offered on the Titanium and Titanium+ trims.

That’s all we have on the new EcoSport S as of now, stay tuned to IndiaCarNews for more updates on this.
