Italian bikemaker, Ducati has launched a new variant of the Scramber family – Ducati Scramber Mach 2.0 – in the Indian market. The company had launched a bunch of new bikes including the Scrambler Cafe, Scrambler Desert Sled, etc. This motorcycle is priced at Rs 8.52 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). The Ducati Scrambler Mach 2.0 is essentially the cosmetically updated version of the regular Scrambler.
The Scrambler Mach 2.0 comes with a new paint scheme, which is created by renowned Californian design Roland Sands with colours that evoke the typical West Coast style of the 70s. This motorcycle has been inspired by the Bell Cross helmet from the 2018 Ducati Scrambler accessories and apparel collection. Speaking on the launch, Sergi Canovas Garriga, Managing Director of Ducati India said, “The Ducati Scramblers are the perfect starting point for motorcyclists. It is a contemporary bike that gives the rider pure riding pleasure with the practicality of a modern bike. Ducati Scrambler Mach 2.0 India Features
The paint job on the Scrambler Mach 2.0 was done by the renowned American bike and riding gear expert – Roland Sands. The bike had its global debut at the 2017 Wheels & Waves show in Biarritz, France. This motorcycle comes with a low variable cross-section aluminium handlebar, a dedicated Flat track pro seat and neat tank graphics. It also gets blacked-out exhaust and engine and Cafe Racer-style brushed cooling fins.
The motorcycle sits on tubular steel trellis frame. It rides on the spoked aluminium wheels that are wrapped with Pirelli MT 60 RS 110/80 R18 and 180/55 R17 front and rear tyres, respectively. Suspension mechanism of the bike comprises of upside down Kayaba 41mm fork and Kayaba rear shock, pre-load and rebound adjustable unit. Braking duties will be carried out by 330mm front and 245mm rear disc units. Ducati offers ABS (anti-lock braking system) as standard on the model lineup. The new Scrambler Mach 2.0 derives power from an 803cc L-Twin cylinder Desmodue engine which has been boosted with electronic fuel injection system. This engine has been designed to favour smooth running and fluid acceleration throughout the rev range. Delivering power to the wheels is a 6-speed gearbox. The new Ducati Scrambler is more expensive than the Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle. Featuring new colour scheme and other features, the new Scrambler Mach 2.0 is priced at Rs 8.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
