After receiving excellent response for Vitara Brezza, Maruti is now planning to launch a new 7 seater SUV in India. Likely to be called Grand Vitara, the new SUV will share platform from the smaller sibling. It will rival the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and Tata Hexa. This SUV will join the company’s premium car line-up – Baleno, S-Cross and Ignis – and will be sold through premium NEXA dealerships. Maruti might also launch the global Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV. The global model is 4,175mm long, 1,755mm wide and 1,610mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,500mm. It has a ground clearance of around 185mm. Under the hood will be a 1.6-litre MJD unit that is good for 118bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. This engine will be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox driving the power to the front wheels. Maruti Future S Concept

Next model to join the list of new upcoming cars at Auto Expo 2018 is the Maruti’s new compact car. Called Future S Concept, the new model will preview the company’s future upcoming compact car that will challenge Hyundai’s upcoming SUV-ish compact car and Renault Kwid 1.0L. This compact car concept features SUV-like characters and bold presence.

The Maruti Suzuki Future S comes with upright stance, a slightly sloping-type roofline, commanding higher seating, horizontal hood and higher ground clearance. It features a uniquely positioned A-pillar. The production version of the car is expected to be launched in the country by the end of 2018 or early 2019.

Honda CRV

The next model in our list of upcoming new Honda cars at Auto Expo 2018 is the new generation CRV SUV. For the first time, the SUV will be offered as 7-seater car and will also come with a diesel powertrain. Under the bonnet will be a new 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine paired to an all-new ZF 9-speed automatic gearbox. Honda Amaze 2018

The Japanese automaker will officially launch the next generation Amaze compact sedan along with other new cars at Auto Expo 2018. Buoyed by excellent response for new Fortuner & Innova, Toyota is planning to introduce more premium products in the Indian market. First car to join our list of upcoming cars at Auto Expo 2018 is the long awaited Toyota CHR. To be positioned below the Fortuner, the CHR will challenge the likes of Hyundai Tucson, Creta, Mahindra XUV500, Renault Kaptur and the upcoming Honda HRV. After new Prius, the CHR will be the second Toyota in India to be based on the new TNGA platform. Likely to be launched in the second half of 2018, the CHR is expected to make its Indian debut at the Delhi Auto Expo 2018.

The CHR is expected to be offered in both petrol & hybrid versions. The gasoline version could get a 1.2-litre turbocharged or a 2.0L 4-cylinder unit producing 113bhp/184Nm and 148bhp/193Nm respectively. The hybrid version is likely to include a 1.8-litre petrol + Electric motor with a combined output of 168bhp and 305Nm. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed MT, 6-speed AT and a CVT automatic.

Toyota Camry 2018

The Japanese automaker has unveiled the 2018 Toyota Camry sedan at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. This model has been designed on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture), which also underpins the new Prius. Compared to the outgoing model, the next Camry looks premium. It receives new grille, sharp headlamps, curvaceous hood, prominent creases, sculpted C-pillar, LED tail-lamps, etc.

The sedan measures 4,899.34mm in length, 1,838.96mm in width and 1,445.26mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,824.48mm. It gets 10 airbags as standard and a backup camera, vehicle stability control, traction control, ABS, EBD, brake assist and smart stop technology. In India, the sedan will get a new 2.5-litre inLine-4 petrol and new-gen Toyota Hybrid system. Paired to a new Direct Shift-8AT gearbox, the new engine will deliver higher power and torque figures.

Toyota Vios

Upcoming Cars At Auto Expo 2018

With an aim to mark strong presence in the mid-sized sedan, the Japanese automaker is planning to launch its global sedan – Vios in India. The Japanese maker is already selling the Etios sedan, but it failed to live up the company’s expectation. Toyota will launch the next-generation Vios sedan. It is expected to make its Indian debut at the Auto Expo 2018 in Delhi, while launch could take place towards the end of 2018. The sedan will be manufactured at the company’s production facility in Bangalore.

It will rival the Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, VW Vento and the Hyundai Verna. Interestingly, Toyota is also considering the hybrid version of the car. The petrol version is likely to be a 1.5-litre unit, while the oil burner could be a 1.4-litre D-4D motor. Transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual and a CVT unit.

Toyota Rush

It was speculated that Toyota will launch the Rush compact SUV in the Indian car market; that didn’t happen. Now, the company has revealed the new generation Rush in the Indonesian market. Based on an all-new platform, the new model has been introduced in Indonesia as a seven-seater SUV. We believe that the Japanese automaker could also showcase the Rush at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The company could present this model to gauge visitors’ response for this model. Exterior styling of the 2018 Toyota Rush seems identical to the Daihatsu FT concept. It measures 4,435mm in length, 1,695mm in width and 1,705mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,685mm. Powering the SUV is a 2NR-VE, 4-cylinder Dual VVT-i petrol engine that is good for 104PS of power and 136Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox.

Renault 7-seater Crossover MPV

The French automaker is planning to launch a new 7-seater crossover MPV in India in 2018. This model will be based on Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-A platform that also underpins the Kwid. It will directly rival the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The sub-4 meter MPV is expected to share its engine lineup with Scala sedan. While the gasoline version is likely to get 105bhp, 1.5-litre unit, the oil burner could be a 84bhp, 1.5-litre K9K unit. Both manual and AMT version of the car will be on offer.

Renault Dezir Electric concept

In a bid to gauge customers’ response, Renault could showcase the DeZir electric coupe concept along with other Renault cars at Auto Expo 2018. This model was first showcased at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The DeZir sports coupe features an electric motor that is mounted in a mid-rear position. It has 24kWh lithium-ion battery that produces 147bhp and 226Nm of torque, and offers a range of 160km.

Renault Zoe

Renault Zoe will be the company’s first compact car to join the list of new Electric cars at Auto Expo 2018. The French automaker has already imported the electric car for testing purpose. This electric car will demonstrate Renault’s expertise in the electric space. Power for the Zoe comes from a new Z.E. 40 battery, which is claimed to deliver a range of up to 400km under NEDC (New European Driving Cycle). Renault claims that this car will give around 300km range in real world conditions. With a standard 7kW charger, it takes 8-9 hours to get fully charged.

Kia, the South Korean automaker is planning to unveil at-least 3-4 new products at the Delhi Auto Expo 2018. The compact will initially launch a mid-sized sedan and a compact SUV in India. It is expected that the Rio sedan could make its way to Indian market. A possible debut at the Auto Expo 2018 can’t be ignored. This mid-sized sedan made its global debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Likely to be launched in 2019, the sedan will rival the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. Based on the i20 platform, the mid-sized sedan will have several styling elements for an enhanced look.

This mid-sized sedan will come with two engine options – a 1.4-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel engine. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Kia Picanto

The Korean giant is also considering the Picanto hatchback for the Indian market. This model could also be unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo 2018. Talking about design highlights, the small car will feature a small, squared bonnet and sharp pulled-back headlamps, small mesh grille with chrome surround and others in its league.

The next model to join the kia’s upcoming cars at Auto Expo 2018 is the Stonic compact SUV, which recently made its global debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The global model is equipped with several high-end features include a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Kia Sportage

Next in the list of Kia cars at Auto Expo 2018 is the Sportage SUV, which has been spotted testing on Indian roads. The Sportage is one of Kia’s oldest models on sale globally. It will directly rival the likes of Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass and the upcoming Honda HRV. This model shares platform with the Tucson and measures 4,480mm in length, 1,855mm in width and 1,445mm in height, and 2,670mm wheelbase. It is expected to be offered with two engine options – a 2.0-litre VTVT petrol and a 2.0-litre CRDi diesel. While the former is good for 155bhp and 192Nm of torque, the oil burner is capable of producing 185bhp and 400Nm of torque.

BMW 6 Series Grand Turismo

The 6 Series Grand Turismo is the first model in the list of premium cars at Auto Expo 2018. It will replace the 5-Series GT and will directly rival the Mercedes-Benz E-Class long-wheelbase. This model gets a sedan-like silhouette that gives it a more appealing fascia than its predecessor. It will come as a CKD unit and then assembled at the company’s India-based plant to achieve competitive pricing. Engine options will include a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol, 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel and a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel.

2018 BMW X3

The new generation X3 was unveiled at the BMW’s Spartanburg plant in the USA on October 25, 2017. BMW will launch the new model in the country in 2018, while the official debut could happen at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Based on the BMW’s new CLAR modular platform, the new X3 is 61mm longer, 17mm wider and 15mm taller than the previous model. The SUV will come with a range of petrol and diesel engine options. The exact engine details of the India-spec model are yet to be announced by the automaker.

BMW M5

The all-new BMW M5 performance car will be the company’s second product launch at the Auto Expo 2018. It is powered by a 4.4-litre, bi-turbo, V8 petrol engine that is capable of producing a maximum power output of 600bhp and a peak torque of 750Nm. Power will be transmitted to all-wheels of the car via MxDrive all-wheel drive system.

BMW i8 Roadster

This will be one of the most exciting cars at Auto Expo 2018. This will be the second derivative of the BMW i8 in India. BMW is already selling the hard top version of the hybrid supercar in the country. First unveiled at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, the new i8 Roadster will be launched in the Indian market in the first half of 2018. Powering the car is a 1.5-litre petrol engine coupled to a 34Ah electric motor. This powertrain develops a combined power output of 274PS and 670Nm of torque.

BMW i3 Electric hatchback

The German luxury carmaker will also showcase the i3 electric hatchback alongside other cars at Auto Expo 2018; however, it will only be a show car. The company won’t launch the i3 electric in the country. The i3 is powered by a 94Ah motor that is capable of producing 170PS of power and 250Nm of torque. This model is claimed to offer a range of 180km on a single-charge.

The first product from the list of new Mercedes Benz cars at Auto Expo 2018 is the new 2018 Mercedes S-Class facelift. First unveiled at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show, the new S-Class facelift will go on sale in the Indian market in the first half of 2018. The new model comes with several new features, highly-fuel efficient engines and several new technologies. The new model will feature a range of new in-line 6-cylinder petrol and diesel engines and a new range-topping twin-turbo V8. The company will also introduce the powerful AMG options in the S-Class sedan, convertible and coupe formats.

Maybach S 650

The Mayback S 650 will be one of the exciting car to be showcased alongside other high-end cars at Auto Expo 2018. Featuring long-wheelbase, handcrafted cabin and several high-end features, the new S 650 will go on sale at the Auto Expo event itself. It is powered by a hand-built, 6.0-litre, V12, bi-turbo motor that is capable of producing of 630PS of power and 1,000Nm of torque.

Mercedes E-Class All Terrain Estate Wagon

The German luxury carmaker had unveiled the E-Class All-Terrain 4×4 model in July 2017. The company will showcase this model at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The E-Class All-Terrain model is equipped with beefier bumpers, body cladding and plastic underbody protection, which will make it look different from the regular model. It is powered by the standard 194bhp, four-cylinder diesel engine paired to a 9G-tronic nine-speed automatic gearbox.

Mercedes Concept EQ

The next to join electric cars at Auto Expo 2018 is the Mercedes EQ electric SUV concept, which was first unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The EQ electric SUV concept previews the company’s first production electric model. This new EQ concept is equipped with several high-end features like cameras in-place of outside rear view mirrors. It is powered by two electric motors – one mounted within the front axle and the second equipped within the rear axle. This electric SUV also has several driver assistance features and a 24-inch windscreen.
