Nissan’s low cost brand Datsun has officially announced that its first car, Go hatchback will be launched on March 19, 2014. Dealers have already started taking advance bookings for the hatchback with a minimum token amount of Rs. 11,000, which is refundable. If media reports to believe, the deliveries for the hatchback will start from 15th March.

The Datsun Go hatchback is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 3-4 lakh. The vehicle is likely to come in three variants and will be offered in 4 different colours. It will compete against the likes of Maruti Alto K10, Hyundai Eon, Maruti Celerio, Chevrolet Spark and others in the segment.

The Datsun Go hatchback comes equipped with some decent features including front power windows, power steering, air conditioning and mobile docking station. It is based on the old Micra platform, which makes it spacious enough to offer comfortable seat for five passengers. Dimensionally, the Datsun Go is 3785mm long, 1635mm wide and 1485mm high.

The Datsun Go is powered by the 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 64bhp and 104Nm of torque. It returns an impressive fuel economy of 20.6kmpl. This engine is mated to a five speed manual transmission gearbox, which transmits power to front wheels of the hatchback.
