Datsun GO Cross Exterior

As mentioned in the beginning, the GO Cross will be built on Nissan’s V platform that also underpins the GO+ MPV. However, it is likely to be lightweight akin to its sibling. Visually, the crossover looks more like a compact SUV – thanks to its bold silhouette and a raised ground clearance. In fact, it overpowers most of the compact SUVs from the current lot in visual terms. Featuring chrome laden hexagonal grille and flanked by LED headlamps with daytime running lamps, the face of the crossover looks quite aggressive.

Design elements such as silver chromed bumper with black plastic extensions, LED fog lights, auxiliary circular lamps and high bonnet line add more to its sporty appeal. The side profile gives MPV-like impression, but features silver lower body cladding, roof rails, raised height and muscular wheel arches offers a bold look. The flared wheel arches are likely to be fitted to 15-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. The rear end is a far cry from its hatchback sibling, featuring bumper with air-intakes, LED taillights enclosures and silver diffuser.

Measuring less than 4 meter in length, the new GO Cross crossover won’t offer huge legroom and headroom space for front and rear occupants. Though, smart interior design would give decent space to accommodate five adults comfortably. The third row of seats will be good enough for kids only.

Datsun Go Cross Suspension & Braking

Datsun equips the crossover with McPherson Strut with double pivot lower arm up front and H-type Torsion Beam rear suspension unit. The braking mechanism of the car will include disc at the front and drum at the rear. Braking will be further assisted by ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System).

Should you wait for this car?

Equipped with modern styling and spacious cabin, the Datsun GO Cross could be a good option for buyers looking for a new compact SUV with decent cabin space and efficient engine setup. Additionally, it is expected to be the most affordable compact SUV in India that will give it an edge over Tata Nexon and Maruti Vitara Brezza. However, it will lack several high-end features that are offered on its rivals.
