– Cleveland Misfit is a retro-styled cafe racer that was unveiled at Auto Expo 2018.

– The bike derives its power from a 223cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine.

Cleveland CycleWerks (CCW) has confirmed that it will launch its sub-250cc retro-styled motorcycles – Cleveland Ace and Cleveland Misfit – in India in October, 2018. While the former is a retro-class commuter with a scrambler variant, the latter one is a cafe racer. Both the bikes made their India debut at this year’s Auto Expo in February.

The Ohio-based bike manufacturer designs and develops the small displacement retro style cafe racers and bobbers. Though, the production of the Cleveland motorcycles takes place in China. Founded in 2009, Cleveland CycleWerks sources most of its bikes’ components (including platforms and Honda derived engine) from CPI Motor Company. The brand also deals in motorcycle customisation. Laish-Madison Motor Werks (LMMW)’s Telangana based facility near Hyderabad will serve as production hub for the Cleveland Mistfit and Ace motorcycles. This will surely help the company achieve competitive pricing. In the Indian market, the Cleveland Misfit will face challenge from bikes like UM Renegade Sport S and retro-style Royal Enfield bikes. Cleveland Misfit India Design

Unlike the Ace range of motorcycles that use a square section single-downtube frame, the new Cleveland Misfit sits on a tubular double cradle chassis. The sub-250cc Misfit motorcycle is claimed to deliver “stable and confident ride”.  While the new-generation model of the bike retains the low seat height, its cockpit area has been increased for better riding comfort. It also gets twin pod instrument that houses speedometer with stepper motor driven needle, a digital odometer and tachometer. For power, the new Cleveland bike makes use of a 223cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with counter balancer and an OHC (overhead camshaft) valvetrain configuration. This motor pushes out a top power of 16bhp (16.3PS) at 7,500rpm, while producing maximum torque output of 18Nm at 5,500rpm. Transmission on offer is a 5-speed unit. The company equips the Misfit with 320mm front disc brake with radialy mounted four-piston caliper and 220mm disc brake. However, the bike misses out on the ABS (anti-lock braking system).
