We were the first one to inform you that Hyundai will launch the new generation i20 hatchback in the Indian car market on August 11. India is a very important market for the South Korean automaker that is why the new i20 will make its global debut in India. The new model will be unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. It was speculated that Hyundai will use the Grand i20 nameplate; however, the pictures indicates that the new model will continue to be sold with i20 badge.
The side profile of the hatchback features the small C-pillar engrossed in black colour while the roofline shows a sloppy form. The rear end of the hatchback gets elongated wrap around tail lamps, making it look upmarket. The wheelbase is grown which in return offers a spacious and comfortable cabin.
The interiors of the 2015 Hyundai i20 look completely different to the previous model. The fit and finish and material quality is top-notch. The three spoke steering wheel features control for music and connectivity. The horizontal shaped air con vents are positioned right at the top of central console. The newly designed dashboard features newly designed infotainment system comprises of MP Player, Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
The new generation Hyundai i20 is likely to be powered by the same 89bhp, 1.4-litre diesel and 83bhp, 1.2-litre Kappa engine. The company might also upgrade the automatic transmission, which is expected to be a five-speed version instead of 4-speed in current model.
