Citroen C5 Aircross SUV Will Be Initially Sold In 10 Major Cities
The French carmaker Citroen will enter India with the C5 Aircross SUV in the second half of 2020. Speaking to a media publication, Roland Bouchara, Senior Vice-President – Sales & Marketing, PCA Automobiles India Pvt Ltd, said that the Citroen C5 Aircross will initially be their flagship model and it will be sold across 10 major cities of the country.
The company aims to achieve over 90% localization level for its new car and new platform vehicles. In order to provide better service experience, the carmaker will ensure that its vehicle components will be made available at competitive prices.
In India, the Citroen C5 Aircross will put up against the Volkswagen Tiguan and Hyundai Tucson. The SUV will be brought via CKD (completely knocked down) route and assembled at the carmaker’s Tiruvallur based plant in Tamil Nadu. The C5 Aircross is reported to hit showrooms during 2020 festive season.
Official specifications of the Citroen C5 Aircross are yet to be revealed. It’s likely to come with the BS6-compliant 1.2L petrol and 2.0L turbo diesel engine options. Both motors could be paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The new Citroen SUV will be packed with several goodies including a 12.3-inch TFT digital instrument screen, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with latest smartphone connectivity features, 20 new age driver assistance features, 6 advanced connectivity technologies and many more.
