Citroen C5 Aircross Spotted In India; To Rival Tucson and Tiguan

Citroen C5 Aircross India Launch

In April 2019, Groupe PSA showcased the Citroen C5 Aircross SUV for the Indian market. The company has confirmed that its first product will be a Hyundai Tucson and Volkswagen Tiguan rival. While the SUV is slated to go on sale next year, it has been spotted testing near Pondicherry.

Based on PSA’s EMP2 platform, the Citroen C5 Aircross measures 4.50m in length with a ground clearance of 230mm. Face of the SUV looks aggressive, thanks to its design elements such as a signature grille, two-tier full-LED headlamps with DRLs and indicators and a long and high bonnet.

Features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, a 12.3-inch TFT digital instrument screen, a 360 degree vision and automatic AC unit are on offer. For safety purpose, the Citroen C5 Aircross offers multiple airbags, electric parking brake, reverse camera, trailer stability control, hill start/descent assist and park assist.

In India, the Citroen C5 Aircross might be offered with a new 1.2L turbocharged petrol and a 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine options. An 8-speed automatic gearbox will be standard across the lineup. Both powertrains and gearbox will be manufactured at the company’s Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu.
