PSA Groupe has finally marked its entry in India with the launch of Citroen C5 Aircross SUV. The model lineup is spread across two variants – Feel and Shine – priced at Rs 29.90 lakh and Rs 31.90 lakh respectively. Prices of are introductory, ex-showroom Delhi. Initially, the new Citroen SUV will be sold via the brand’s La Maison showrooms across 10 select cities. The SUV comes in a choice of seven colour options – 3 mono-tone and four dual-tone. It includes Tijuca Blue in mono and dual-tone, Pearl White in mono and dual-tone, Cumulus Grey in mono and dual tone, and Perla Nera Black. While the white-finished model gets exclusive orange coloured accents on the exterior, and the others variants come with silver accents.

At the heart of the Citroen C5 Aircross is a 2.0L diesel engine paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The oil burner pushes out a peak power of 177bhp and 400Nm of torque. The carmaker claims that the SUV offers fuel economy of 18.6kmpl. It offers multiple drive modes and traction modes. Compared to the Compass that comes with 170bhp, 2.0L diesel unit, the new Citroen SUV is more powerful and torqueier. The Hyundai Tucson diesel, however, is more powerful than the C5 Aircross.
Dimensionally, the Citroen premium SUV is longer, wider and taller than its arch rivals. Its overall length, width and height stand at 4500mm, 2099mm and 1710mm. Sitting on 2730mm long wheelbase, the SUV ensures more cabin space than the Compass and Tucson. The SUV has a luggage capacity of 580-litres that can be expanded up to 1630-litres by folding the second row of seats. The Citroen C5 Aircross Shine variant comes with three exclusive features, namely, hands free tailgate opening, a panoramic sunroof and LED headlamps. The list of standard features includes an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 12.3-inch digital instrument screen, power folding and heated wing mirrors, dual-zone climate control, auto dimming inside rear view mirror, powered driver’s seat, keyless entry and go, puddle lamps, hands-free parking, halogen headlamps with LED DRLs, auto headlamps and wipers, front and rear fog lamps and 18-inch alloys.
On the safety front, the new Citroen SUV provides 6 airbags protection along with electronic stability program, hill-descent control and hill-start assist, rear view camera, tyre pressure monitor, electronic parking brake, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control and traction control.
