Citroen C5 Aircross In Dual-Tone Colour Spotted; Debut On 1st Feb

Citroen C5 Aircross SUV, the first offering from the French carmaker in India, is set to make official debut on 1st February 2021. We have seen the model in multiple spy pictures, though, the latest one shows a new dual-tone colour scheme of the SUV. The spotted test mule was pained in light Silver shade with blacked-out roof.

The model was caught on camera near around its assembly plant i.e. CK Birla Thiruvallur based facility near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. It will be Citroen’s flagship SUV and will be brought as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit.

In India, the Citroen C5 Aircross will be made available in a single, fully-loaded variant at an expected price of Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). Reports suggest, the SUV will initially be retailed across 10 major cities. The carmaker will setup 10-12 outlets based on ‘La Maison Citroen’ concept in the first phase of its operations. Official engine specifications of the new Citroen SUV are yet to be revealed. Though, it’s likely to come with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder diesel engine that’s good enough for 177bhp and 400Nm of torque. The carmaker might also offer a 1.6L turbocharged petrol engine making 180bhp and 250Nm. Transmission duties will be performed by an 8-speed automatic gearbox. A 6-speed manual transmission might be reserved for the petrol variants.

Similar to the Europe-spec model, the India-bound C5 Aircross is likely to be packed with lots of goodies including an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, dual zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, an electronic parking brake, powered tailgate and many more. Some of its design highlights will include signature grille, split headlamps, large air intakes, pronounced wheel arches, 17-inch alloys, rear roof spoiler, twin exhaust vents, blacked out bumper and wraparound LED taillamps.
