In the next 30 days, India’s auto industry will witness launch and unveiling of multiple new cars starting from Citroen C5 Aircross to new Mahindra Bolero Neo. In the next 1 week, two new SUVs will be introduced in the Indian market. The all-new Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater SUV will make global debut in India on April 6, 2021, while the Citroen C5 Aircross will be launched on April 7, 2021.
Citroen C5 Aircross
– Interested buyers can pre-book the new C5 Aircross online or via Citroen’s La Maison dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 50,000. Buyers who pre-book the new C5 Aircross will get a complementary maintenance package of 5 years/50,000kms.
– It will come in two variants – Feel and Shine. The SUV will be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces 177bhp and 400Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The C5 Aircross is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 18.6kmpl.
– Estimated to be priced around Rs 27 lakh to Rs 30 lakh, the Citroen C5 Aircross will rival the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan 5-seater. The company is also giving a standard 3 year/ 1 lakh km warranty along with the roadside assistance.
– Key features include automatic headlamps, 18-inch alloys, 12.3-inch digital instrument console, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment, dual-zone climate control, powered driver’s seat, hands-free parking, keyless entry & go, auto dimming IRVM, cruise control, electronic parking brake.
– Safety features – tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, 6 airbags, traction control, electronic stability control, hill descent control, hill start assist, rear view camera, etc.
Hyundai Alcazar
– It is basically the long-wheelbase version of the Hyundai Creta. The Alcazar will be offered in 6-and 7-seat options. The wheelbase and the length of the SUV will be increased by 20mm and 30mm respectively to accommodate third row of seat.
– Estimated to be priced around Rs 13 lakh to Rs 19 lakh, the Hyundai Alcazar will rival the Mahindra XUV500, MG Hector Plus and the new Tata Safari.
– The SUV is rumoured to be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 152bp and 192Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. The SUV could also receive the 1.4-litre turbocharged engine producing 138bhp and 250Nm of torque. This engine is paired to a 7-speed DCT.
– Diesel version is most likely to get the 1.5-litre turbo engine that powers the Creta. This engine produces 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
– The SUV is likely to get ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) technology. Other features are likely to include a 360 degree camera, Bluelink connected car tech, automatic AC, keyless entry and push-button start/stop system, powered driver’s seat, automatic headlamps, etc.
