Citroen C3 Will Be Priced Aggressively To Challenge Tata Punch

Citroen C3 is ready to mark its entry into the Indian market on 20th July 2022. The carmaker calls it a premium hatchback with SUV stance featuring sporty front, high ground clearance and raised back seat. The carmaker says it has achieved localization levels close to 95 percent for its upcoming hatchback. The new Citroen hatchback will also take on the high-riding hatchs such as Maruti Suzuki Ignis. The C3 is estimated to cost from Rs 5.50 lakh to Rs 7.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Its rival – Tata Punch – comes in 18 variants and 4 Kaziranga Editions that cost between Rs 5.83 lakh – Rs 9.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

At the launch, the C3 will be made available in two variants – Live and Feel. The entry-level Live variant comes with a digital instrument cluster, front power windows with one-touch down for driver, AC unit and dual airbags. Though, it misses out on some basic features including LED DRLs, black plastic cladding, rear power windows, touchscreen infotainment system, audio system, USB chargers and the passenger sun visor. The Feel trim offers a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It has 4 speakers audio system, tilt adjustable steering, steering mounted controls, remote locking, speed sensitive auto door lock, door ajar warning and roof rails. However, it devoid of central lock/unlock button for the doors, a day/night mirror, powered wing mirror adjustment, a tachometer and a rear windscreen wiper.

The Citroen C3 Live and Feel variants derive power from a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine, while 1.2L turbo petrol unit is reserved for the Feel trim. Initially, it will be offered with manual gearbox only. The company has confirmed that it will introduce its automatic version at a later stage. The hatchback can be had in 4 montone and 6 dual-tone exterior colour options. The company will offer three customization packs with the C3 including Vibe, Elegance and Energy.

The French carmaker aims to setup 20 dealerships in July and around 30 outlets by the end of this year. Just so you know, it begun with 10 dealers when the C5 SUV was launched.
