The French carmaker recently began its Indian operations with the launch of Citroen C5 Aircross premium SUV. Now, the company is planning to foray into subcompact (Citroen CC21) and mid-size (Citroen C3 Aircross) SUV segments in coming months. The small SUV will be positioned against the upcoming Tata HBX and is reported to hit roads during this festive season. The new Citroen compact SUV will take on the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos and is expected to arrive sometime next year.
While launch of the Citroen C3 Aircross is months away, a latest rendering previews its India-spec version inspired by the brand’s global design language. Upfront, the SUV carries the signature double arrow badge, sleek grille extending towards the LED DRLs, LED headlamps, black radiator grill, fog lamp assembly with contrast Blue surrounding and pronounced hood.
The side profile has been adorned by black roof, silver roof rails, black cladding all around the body, diamond cut alloy wheels, body-coloured door handles and black ORVMs. At the back, the rendered model features LED taillamps connected via a thick black plaque and a skid plate.
Interior details of the upcoming C3 Aircross are still under the wraps. Though, the spy pictures reveal that it will have a three-spoke steering wheel with silver garnish, dashboard integrated infotainment system and seats integrated headrests. The list of features might also include telematic control unit, multi information display, cruise control system, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, push-button start/stop and more.
Reports suggest that the Citroen C3 Aircorss might be offered with a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine. It could be India’s first flexi-fuel vehicle featuring petrol engine with ethanol blends ranging from 27% to 100%. The powertrain is likely to offer power around 100bhp and 150Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearboxes might on offer.
