Chevrolet Spin MPV will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel engine, paired to a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Upon its launch, the Chevrolet Spin MPV will lock horns with products like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Innova, Renault Lodgy and Honda Mobilio.
The Chevrolet Spin MPV was showcased at the recently-concluded 2016 Auto Expo. To be positioned between the Enjoy and the Tavera, the Spin MPV will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Innova, Renault Lodgy and Honda Mobilio. For people not in the know, the vehicle first broke cover in 2015 at an event in Delhi.
If reports are to be believed, the Chevrolet Spin might come as a replacement of the slow-selling Enjoy in the Indian market. Expected to be priced between Rs. 6.5 lakh – Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom), this MPV will come with seven-seat configuration, and feature a more contemporary design than the Enjoy.

Though General Motors hasn’t revealed the exact launch date of the Chevrolet Spin, we expect it to make its way to India sometime in the last quarter of this financial year.
Price for the Spin MPV is likely to start from Rs. 6.5 lakh for the base model, and up to Rs. 8.5 lakh for the top-ragging variant.
The new Chevrolet MPV shares its platform and styling elements with the Beat hatchback. It looks more contemporary and premium than the Enjoy. The front fascia of the car features a dual honeycomb grille with the bow-tie Chevrolet logo placed in the centre, which is flanked by sweptback headlamps. It also gets round fog lamps and body-colored bumper. The side profile is highlighted by prominent wheel arches, alloy wheels, roof rails, body coloured ORVMs with integrated blinkers and side body cladding. At the rear, the MPV sports large tail-gate and stylish tail lamps in diamond-shape.
In terms of dimensions, the Spin is longer, wider, taller and more spacious than its replacement (i.e. Enjoy). It measures 4,360 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width and 1,683 mm in height. This also makes it larger than the Maruti Ertiga, but slightly smaller than the Honda Mobilio. The MPV carries a kerb weight of 1,277kgs. It has a ground clearance of 191mm, while the wheelbase stands at 2,525mm. The Chevrolet Spin will be offered in five exterior color options – Mond Grey Metallic, Switchblade Silver Metallic, Summit White, Black Sapphire and Berry Red Metallic.

Interior & Features
The interior of the Spin MPV looks premium with good quality plastic and fit & finish. Most of its components are borrowed from the Beat hatchback that will certainly help the company to price it more aggressively against rivals. The car has dual tone beige and brown interior theme with larger instrument cluster, a dual-tone grey dashboard, and centre console with dark grey surrounds. There are air-con vents placed below the centre console.
As far as features are concerned, the vehicle comes loaded with music system with Aux-in, USB connectivity and Bluetooth telephony, a multi-function steering wheel with mounted audio controls, digital speedometer, silver and chrome finish control buttons and several comfort and safety features. The new Chevrolet MPV offers a spacious cabin with three-row layout that can accommodate seven adult passengers. It has a boot capacity of up to 1,668-litres with the rear seats folded down.
Engine & Transmission
In global markets, the Chevrolet Spin is available only with a 1.5-litre petrol engine. Whereas, the India-spec model will come with two engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol and the Fiat sourced 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel. While the former puts out a maximum power of 107bhp and 148Nm of torque, the latter one delivers 89bhp and 200Nm of torque. Power will be delivered via a 5-speed manual transmission. A 6-speed automatic might also be on offer, but only on the petrol variants.
