4. Hyundai Grand i10
The South Korean carmaker’s highly-popular hatchback Grand i10 received a mid-life updated early last year. The company’s new 1.2-litre diesel engine made its debut on the facelifted Grand i10, replacing the old 70bhp, 1.1-litre motor. Compared to the old unit, the new oil burner is 3bhp more powerful and 30Nm torquier. The power and torque outputs of the new engine stand at 73.97bhp and 190Nm respectively. It’s also high on fuel efficiency.
Paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the 1.2L mill delivers a claimed mileage of 24.95kmpl. The hatchback also continue to come with a 1.2-litre petrol engine carried over from the old model. This gasoline unit delivers 82bhp with 113.7Nm of torque. While the diesel variants are available with a 5-speed manual gearbox only, the petrol models could be brought either with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic unit.
