The next in our list of the cheapest diesel cars in India is the Tata Indica. The Indica has been doing well for the home-grown carmaker in the commercial vehicle segment. Under the hood, the car houses a 1396cc diesel engine that complies BSIII and BS4 emission norms. This power mill is capable of pushing out a maximum power of 69.04bhp at 4000rpm and a peak torque of 140 Nm between 1800 – 3000rpm.
The Tata Indica has been proving itself to be an excellent drive though it can get a little rugged over time. But in terms of its efficiency even in the longer run, the car is second to none.
