We tell you 6 most affordable small cars that come with dual airbags and ABS protection.
Thanks to the Government of India’s announcement on making the car crash tests mandatory from October this year, more and more carmakers have started offering several safety features with their vehicles. For people not in the know, all the cars to be launched after October 1, 2017 will have to pass three different crash tests at a speed of 56km/h. And from October 2018, all the makers will have to necessarily offer airbags and anti-lock braking system (ABS). Such initiatives have been taken to control ever-increasing road fatalities in the country.

Maruti Suzuki A-Star’s spiritual successor – the Celerio – is the most affordable Indian car that offers dual airbags and anti-lock braking system (ABS). Like most Nexa cars, the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Ignis too has dual airbags and ABS as standard safety equipment. All of its variants also get ISOFIX child seats. Though it misses out on several comfort, convenience and connectivity features since it’s the base variant of the car. This car derives its power from a 1.2-litre petrol mill mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

As against the new model’s 76bhp, this engine returns 67bhp with the Micra Active model.
