In March 2016, Hyundai India rolled out two new automatic variants of the Grand i10 – Magna AT and Asta (O) AT at Rs 5.92 lakh and Rs 6.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The Asta (O) AT has come as a replacement to the old Asta AT. Both the variants come equipped with a 1.2-litre Kappa VTVT petrol mill couple to a conventional 4-speed automatic gearbox. 6. Honda Brio

The Honda Brio was one of the first automatic cars in India in the entry-level space, though couldn’t find many buyers. Despite being one of the oldest in the lot, the Honda Brio automatic is a fun-to-drive vehicle thanks to its 5-speed torque converter unit that comes mated to Honda’s superb 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol mill. This engine is good for 87bhp and 109Nm. The Brio is available in two automatic variants – VX AT and VX(O) AT priced at Rs 6.5 lakh and Rs 7 lakh respectively.

7. Nissan Micra

Though not as popular as other affordable automatic cars in the list here, the Nissan Micra’s CVT is yet another option you can look for. There are two automatic variants of Nissan Micra on sale – XL CVT and XV CVT that are priced at Rs 6.5 lakh and Rs 7.2 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The same CVT transmission is used for other Nissan vehicles as well. Powering both the variants is the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, petrol mill that belts out 76bhp at 6000rpm and 104Nm at 4400rpm.
