The new Maruti Celerio X will come in three two trim levels – Vxi and Zxi – in total of 8 variants

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker will soon launch the Celerio X, a pseudo crossover based on the Celerio hatchback. Bookings for the car have already commenced at a token amount of Rs 10,000, while deliveries are being promised by the end of this month. Maruti is yet to make an official announcement on its launch date; however, a leaked brochure has revealed all its features, colours and other details.

The leaked brochure reveals that the Celerio X will come in eight variants – Vxi, Vxi (O), Vxi AMT, Vxi AMT (O), Zxi, Zxi (O), Zxi AMT and Zxi AMT (O). This pseudo SUV comes equipped with a black body kit that consists of a matte black rear bumper with a silver scuff plate, black cladding on wheel arches and black side moulding, dual-tone bumper with black trim around the fog lamp enclosure and a new grille. Other design highlights include black ORVMs with integrated blinkers, blacked-out B-pillar, roof rails, black door handles and rear wiper. Dimensionally, the new Celerio X is slightly longer and wider than the standard hatchback. It is 3,715mm, 1,635mm and 1,565mm in length, width and height respectively. However, the wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,425mm. It comes with 235-litres of boot space and 35-litre fuel tank. This pseudo cross comes with a minimum ground clearance of 120mm. The top-end ZXi & ZXi (O) variants come equipped with features like ORVM mounted turn signals, tilt steering, multi-functional steering wheel, rear wiper, washer and defogger and keyless entry. The optional model gets black 14-inch alloy wheels, height adjustable driver’s seat and fog lamps. Driver side airbag will come as standard, while ABS and dual front airbags is offered on mid-level and high-level trims.

The Celerio X is powered by the same 998cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine that also powers the standard hatchback. It is capable of producing 67bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 90Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit. This hatchback rides on 14-inch wheels shod with 165/70 R14 tyres. This hatchback will come in five exterior paint jobs – Orange, Brown, Blue, White and Grey.
