BYD Atto 3 electric SUV is ready to witness market launch in India today (i.e. 11th October, 2022). After the e6 MPV, it will be the second electric offering from the Chinese carmaker in the country. Here, the Atto 3 will be positioned against the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV. The model will come to India via SKD (semi-knocked down) route and it’s expected to cost from Rs 30 lakh onwards. The company’s Sriperumbudur based facility near Chennai will serve as production hub for the new BYD electric SUV.
The leaked information says that the Atto 3 will be offered with a 49.92kWh BYD Blade battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor. It will have an electric motor pushing out a peak power of 201bhp and 310Nm of torque. Its range will be 345km (WLTP cycle) on a full charge. The new BYD electric SUV will be capable to do 0 to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds. The model will also be available with a 60.49kWh battery pack promising a range of 420km on a single charge.
Interior of the new BYD Atto 3 will be feature-packed. The EV will have a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There will be a 5-inch digital instrument cluster along with a flat-bottom steering with mounted controls, a 360 degree camera, PM 2.5 air filter, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, 6-way power adjustable driver seat, 4-way adjustable front passenger seat, driver and front passenger heated seats, automatic climate control, synthetic leather seats, an electric opening for a tailgate and all LED lighting.
The new BYD electric SUV will ensure passengers’ safety with electronic stability program, hill decent control, 6 airbags, traction control system, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, a seat belt reminder system and a speed alert system.
