BSA Gold Star 650 India Launch Timeline – 7 Key Details  

First unveiled in December 2021, the BSA Gold Star 650 retro-styled motorcycle is already on sale in the UK and European markets. Now, the company has confirmed that the model will see a release worldwide from 2023 onwards. It’s likely to make its way to India near around March 2023.

While the model has been priced from £6500 (approx. Rs 6.23 lakh) in the UK, it’s expected to cost around Rs 2.9 lakh in India due to local production. Here, it will facelift challenge from bikes like Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Kawasaki Z650RS.

For power, the BSA Gold Star 650 uses a 652cc, four-valve, liquid-cooled engine with DOHC setup. The motor pushes out a peak power of 45bhp at 6,000rpm and 55Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. The company says that its engine “Torque starts building up from as low as 1,800rpm”, delivering a healthy flow throughout the rev range and resulting in effortless cruising and bursts of acceleration when needed”. The new BSA bike sits on a tubular steel, dual-cradle frame and its design is similar to the original BSA Gold Stars. It has a teardrop shaped fuel tank and reverse sweep instruments. While the bike gets a halogen headlamp, it has an LED taillamp.

The retro-bike has been assembled with 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tyres.

Some of its other key features include a twin-pod analogue speedometer and tachometer with LCD multi-functional displays, a handlebar-mounted USB charger and a slipper clutch.

Suspension duties are done by a 41mm telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorbers.

Braking power comes from a single disc front and rear brake with Brembo calipers and dual channel ABS (anti-lock braking system).

The Gold Star offers a fuel tank capacity of 12-litres and has a kerb weight of 213kg.
