BS6 TVS Radeon Launched; Delivers 15% More Mileage
After the TVS Sport, the company now updated the Radeon 110cc commuter motorcycle to meet the BS6 emission norms. The BS6 TVS Radeon has been offered in Standard drum brake, special edition drum and disc variants priced at Rs 58,992, Rs 61,992 and Rs 64,992 respectively. All prices are ex-showroom. Compared to the old BS4 version, the bike has witnessed a price hike between Rs 6,632 – Rs 8,632.
The BS6 TVS Radeon uses the fuel injected 109.7cc, air-cooled engine instead of its carbureted unit. With this calibration, the power output has been dropped from 8.2bhp to 8.08bhp. Torque figure, however, remains unchanged – i.e. 8.7Nm. The bikemaker says that the BS6 model of the commuter is 15% more fuel efficient than its BS4 counterpart.
The addition of fuel injector and a larger catalytic converter have increased its kerb weight upto 4kgs. Now, its drum brake model weighs 116kgs and the disc brake variant carries a kerb weight of 118kg. The updated model comes equipped with a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox and wet multi plate type clutch. No other changes have been made to the commuter. The BS6 TVS Radeon continues to come in 8 colour options – Chrome-Black, Chrome-Brown along with Metal Black, Titanium Grey, Volcano Red, Royal Purple, Pearl White and Golden Beige. Some of its key features include chrome bezel on the headlamp, LED DRLs, the champagne gold engine cover and knee pads on the fuel tank and brown seat.
