After the BS6 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and 200 4V, the Chennai-based two-wheeler maker has rolled out its first BS6-compliant scooter – TVS Jupiter 110cc. One must note that only the Jupiter Classic ET-Fi (Ecothrust Fuel injection) variant gets the update. The BS6-compliant iteration of its Base, ZX and Grande variants will soon go on sale.
The BS6 TVS Jupiter Classic ET-Fi has been priced at Rs 67,911 (ex-showroom, Delhi), thus making it around Rs 8,000 more expensive than the old one. Boosted with ET-Fi technology, the scooter is claimed to deliver “enhanced overall performance across driveability, smoothness, and fuel economy”.
Besides the updated engine, the BS6 TVS Jupiter Classic ET-Fi gets a tinted visor, a USB charger and storage space in the front. It comes in a choice of three colour schemes – Indiblue (new), Autumn Brown and Sunlit Ivory.
Powering the BS6 TVS Jupiter Classic ET-Fi scooter is the same 110cc engine delivering a peak power of 7.9bhp at 7500rpm and a peak torque of 8Nm at 5500rpm. The BS6 Jupiter Classic ET-Fi receives upgraded independently adjustable shocks suspension unit at the rear. Though, the front telescopic forks unit remains unchanged. It gets 130mm dual drum brakes as standard and the optional front disc.
