Prices of the new BS6-compliant TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V motorcycles have been increased in the country. Now, the former comes in Drum and Disc brake variants priced at Rs 102,950 and Rs 106,000 respectively. Both variants have witnessed a price hike of Rs 2,000. The BS6 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is now available at Rs 127,500, thus making it Rs 2,500 more expensive than before. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

For power, the BS6 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V uses the 159.7cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine delivering a maximum power of 16.02PS and 14.12Nm of torque. This makes the BS6 model slightly less powerful and torquier than its BS4 version. The BS6 Apache RTR 200 4V is powered by the 197.75cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine dishing out power worth 20.5PS and 16.80Nm of torque.

Besides the BS6-compliant powertrains, the updated Apache RTR 200 4V and Apache RTR 160 4V receive minor cosmetic changes including LED headlamps. Both models come with the first-in-segment GTT technology (Glide Through Traffic) that not only helps with low-speed urban riding, but ensures a smooth and controlled ride as well. The Apache RTR 200 4V also gets TVS’ Bluetooth-enabled SmartXonnect instrument cluster displaying several information. It can also be connected to the rider’s smartphone.  

Talking about the company’s future plan, TVS recently registered a new product name ‘Ronin’ that rumoured to be used for the production-ready Zeppelin cruiser bike. The TVS Zeppelin made its first public appearance in its concept avatar at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The home-grown two-wheeler maker is also working on a new motorcycle that will be based on the Apache RR 310 platform. It could be the naked version of the popular TVS Apache RR 310.

BS6 TVS Apache 160 Price

The upcoming naked Apache might share some of its design bits and components with its fully-faired donor sibling. While there is no official word about the product and its specifications, it’s reported to use the BS6 312.2cc, single-cylinder engine. The motor is good enough for 33.5bhp and 27.3Nm.

TVS and BMW Motorrad is also working on a new motorcycle that will underpin the Apache RR 310’s platform. Slated to launch in 2021, the new TVS-BMW motorcycle will be developed from the ground-up. It might be offered with a twin-cylinder engine ranging between 500cc – 650cc. It’s expected to be priced around Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom).
