BS6 Toyota Innova Crysta Bookings Open; Launch Next Month

In order to meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms that will be enforced from 1st April 2020, Toyota Kirloskar Motor will soon upgrade its highly-popular Innova Crysta MPV. According to a fresh media report, select Toyota dealers have started taking pre-orders for the BS6-compliant version of the vehicle. Engine details of the BS6 Toyota Innova Crysta are yet to be revealed. Though, its power figures are likely to be changed. Currently, the MPV comes with the BS4 2.7L, 4-cylinder petrol and 2.8L, 4-cylinder diesel engines that push out a peak power of 164bhp with 245Nm and 148bhp with 343Nm respectively. The MPV can be had either with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

With a jump to BS6 emission norms, the Toyota Innova Crysta is likely to witness price hike by 15% to 20%. At present, the petrol variants of the MPV come in the price range of Rs 14.93 lakh (for the GX MT) – Rs 21.03 lakh (for the ZX AT).  The diesel models, on the other hand, cost from Rs 15.67 lakh (for the G Plus MT) to Rs 22.43 lakh (for the ZX AT). All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

Besides upgrading its product portfolio, Toyota will co-develop an all-new compact SUV with Maruti Suzuki. It’s reported to hit roads sometime in 2022. The new Toyota-Maruti compact SUV will take head-to-head against the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta.
