BS6 Toyota Fortuner, Innova Crysta Will Be Rs 3-5 Lakh Expensive

Toyota Kirloskar Motor will soon roll out the BS6-compliant version of its two highest selling models – Fortuner SUV and Innova Crysta. With the upgrade, both models will witness a price hike by 15% to 20%. That said, the BS6 Toyota Fortuner and Innova Crysta will get expensive by Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh (depending on the variant). The Japanese carmaker will upgrade the Fortuner and Innova Crysta powertrains with new filters and a revised exhaust system. Currently, the fully-fledged SUV comes in the price range of Rs 27.83 lakh – Rs 33.60 lakh and the MPV costs between Rs 14.93 lakh – Rs 23.47 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.

Toyota Innova Crysta G Plus

The company will discontinue the Etios Liva hatchback, Etios sedan and Etios Cross before the implementation of the BS6 emission norms. Toyota has no plan to upgrade the Etios’ 1.4L D-4D diesel engine as it will be an expensive affair.

Besides upgrading the Fortuner and Innova Crysta as per the BS6 norms, Toyota will working jointly with Maruti Suzuki to bring in new models in different segments. The carmakers will co-develop a compact SUV and an all-new C-segment MPV. While the former will challenge the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta, the latter one will put up against the Mahindra Marazzo.
