BS6 Tata Harrier, Nexon, Altroz Diesel Deliveries Delayed

BS6 Tata Harrier Automatic

In January 2020, Tata Motors had introduced the BS6-compliant Nexon subcompact SUV, Tiago hatchback and Tigor compact sedan. Alongside, the carmaker announced prices of the all-new Tata Altroz premium hatchback that comes against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20. The carmaker also rolled out the BS6 Tata Harrier SUV at the recently-concluded Auto Expo 2020.

According to a latest media report, the deliveries of the BS6 Tata Harrier, Nexon and Altroz diesel models will be commenced from April, 2020. The reason behind delay is said to be the limited availability of BS6 diesel fuel in the market.

Talking about the Tata Altroz, the premium hatchback comes with the BS6-compliant 1.2L Revotron petrol and 1.5L Revotroq diesel engines. While the former makes 85bhp with 113Nm, the latter delivers 89bhp with 200Nm. Both motors come with a 5-speed manual gearbox only.

Reports suggest that the carmaker will offer a more powerful 115bhp, 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine at a later stage. The hatchback will also receive a 7-speed DCT (dual clutch transmission) gearbox in near future.

The 2020 Tata Harrier has been made available with a more powerful 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine that pushes out a peak power of 170PS with 350Nm of torque. Besides this, the SUV receives an auto dimming IRVM, a 6-way driver seat with adjustable lumbar support, a panoramic sunroof, dual-tone diamond cut R17 alloys, revised ORVMs and a new Calypso Red colour.

Priced from Rs 6.95 lakh – Rs 12.7 lakh, the 2020 Tata Nexon facelift comes with the BS6-compliant 1.2L turbo Revotron petrol and 1.5L turbo Revtorq diesel engine options. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT unit. The new Nexon is the company’s first car to get iRA (Intelligent Realtime Assist) connected car features along with minor design and feature upgrades.
