BS6 Tata Harrier Automatic Launched At Auto Expo 2020

The long wait for the 2020 Tata Harrier is finally over, as the home-grown carmaker has rolled out the SUV in the country. Available in a total of variants across trim levels, the SUV’s updated model has been priced between Rs 13.69 lakh – 20.25 Rs lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the BS6 Harrier comes in the price range of Rs 13.69 lakh – 18.79 lakh, the automatic variants are priced from Rs 16.25 lakh to Rs 20.25 lakh. The new Harrier dual-tone and Dark trim cost between Rs 17.60 lakh – Rs 18.95 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom India.

At this price, the BS6 Tata Harrier will take on multiple products right from Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos to MG Hector, Mahindra XUV50 and Jeep Compass.

The 2020 Tata Harrier comes with a host of cosmetic upgrades including dual-tone diamond cut R17 alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof and a new Calypso Red colour scheme. Interior of the new BS6 Tata Harrier has been boasted with some premium features. The SUV gets a 6-way powered driver seat with adjustable lumbar support and auto dimming IRVM. Features such as an 8.8-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, JBL audio system, a 7-inch multi information display and drive modes are carried over from the old model. The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) is now standard across the SUV lineup.

Under the hood, the 2020 Tata Harrier employs a more powerful 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine that also does duty in the Gravitas 7-seater SUV. The oil burner has been calibrated to deliver a maximum power of 170PS with 350Nm of torque. It meets the new BS6 emission standards that will be enforced from 1st April, 2020.

Similar to the Gravitas, the new BS6 Tata Harrier comes with a new 6-speed automatic gearbox sourced from Hyundai. The new automatic transmission is exclusively offered in three variants – XMA, XZA and XZA+. The SUV continues to come with the standard manual gearbox.
