BS6 Tata Harrier Automatic Teased; Debut At Auto Expo

Tata Motors has dropped the first teaser video of the BS6 Tata Harrier Automatic variant that will debut at the Auto Expo 2020. The biennial event is scheduled to happen from 5th to 12th February in Greater Noida. The teaser video shows the gear lever and silhouette of the vehicle. Compared to the current model, the 2020 Tata Harrier BS6 automatic will be 30bhp more powerful. The updated version will feature the BS6-compliant 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine that will be tuned for generating power worth 170PS against 350Nm of torque. The SUV will continue to come with the standard 6-speed manual gearbox.

Recently, the SUV’s fully-loaded XZ+ was caught on the camera featuring a panoramic sunroof and machined 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The BS6 Tata Harrier automatic is likely to come with both these features. The newly-designed smaller ORVMs, auto diming day/night IRMs and electrically adjustable driver’s seat might also be offered. Prices of the BS6 Tata Harrier will be around Rs 30,000 – Rs 40,000 higher than the current model (depending on the variants). At present, the SUV comes in the price range of Rs 13.43 lakh (entry-level XE trim) – Rs 17.30 lakh (top-end variant). The 2020 Tata Harrier automatic is likely to be priced around Rs 1.5 lakh premium over the manual top-end trim.

At the biennial event, Tata Motors will also showcase the 7-seater version of the Harrier – Tata Gravitas. It will feature the same 170PS, 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine with a 6-speed Hyundai-sourced automatic gearbox.

The Tata H2X mini SUV mini (production-ready) and Tata Altroz EV will also make their India debut at the Auto Expo 2020. The newly-launched Tata Altroz, 2020 Nexon, Tiago and Tigor facelifts will also be put up on display at the event.
