At the heart of the BS6 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 will be the same 346cc, single-cylinder engine, which of-course will be BS6-compliant. The same motor does duty in the updated RE Classic 350. Boosted with fuel injection technology, it delivers a maximum power of 19.8bhp at 5,250rpm and a maximum torque of 28Nm at 4,000rpm. The bike has a 5-speed gearbox for performing transmission duties.

The bike’s updated model might get new colour schemes along some subtle changes. The suspension and braking mechanism is likely to remain unchanged. Similar to the existing model, the BS6-compliant version will feature the telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers/gas-charged unit. The braking system will include a 280mm disc and 153mm drum brake at the front and rear axle respectively.

Talking about Royal Enfield’s future plan, the Chennai-based bikemaker is planning to replace the Thunderbird nameplate with the Royal Enfield Meteor. Expected to launch in mid 2020, the motorcycle will sit on the upgraded J architecture that will also underpin the new-generation Bullet 350 and Classic 350. Rumour has it that the new RE bike will be retailed under ‘Explorer’ brand name.
