BS6 Renault Kwid Coming Soon; To Offer Less Mileage
Renault India will introduce the BS6-compliant Kwid hatchback in coming months. A test mule of the BS6 Renault Kwid Climber variant was recently caught on camera during its test rounds. Currently, the Renault Kwid comes with two powertrain options – a 0.8L petrol and a 1.0L petrol. The smaller capacity gasoline unit produces a peak power of 54PS with 72Nm. It has been paired to a 5-speead manual gearbox and delivers an ARAI-certified mileage of 22.3kmpl.
The 1.0L petrol motor pushes out a maximum power of 68PS and 91Nm of torque. It can be had either with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. No other changes will be made to the BS6 Renault Kwid. All variants of the hatchback will come with the standard ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert, driver and co-driver seat belt reminder and rear child lock safety features.
The 0.8L engined Renault Kwid comes in the price range of Rs 2.83 lakh – Rs 4.13 lakh. The 1.0L variants, on the other hand, are priced from Rs 4.33 lakh to Rs 4.92 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. Prices of the BS6 Renault Kwid are likely to go up by Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000.
