BS6 MG Hector Launch In March; To Get Pricier Upto Rs 1.25 Lakh
MG Motor India will soon introduce the BS6-compliant version of its highly popular Hector SUV. While the official launch details are yet to be announced, the BS6 MG Hector is reported to hit showrooms in March, 2020. Official bookings are likely to begin in mid February. In order to make the diesel engine BS6-compliant, the carmaker will add a urea tank and DPF (Diesel Particulate filter). The BS6 MG Hector diesel might also get a start-stop technology enhancing its fuel economy. The petrol motor will witness minor changes.
The SUV’s updated model will continue to come with three engine options – a 2.0L diesel, a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo petrol with 48V mild-hybrid system. Transmission choices will include the same 6-speed manual and DCT gearbox unit. Read – MG ZS Petrol Model Might Come To India
Prices of the BS6 MG Hector will surely be higher than its BS4 version. The petrol variants are likely to get expensive from Rs 45,000 to Rs 60,000, depending on the variants. The Hector diesel, on the other hand, will witness a significant price hike of up to Rs 1.25 lakh across all variants.
At present, the MG Hector petrol comes in the price range of Rs 12.48 lakh – Rs 17.18 lakh. The diesel variants are priced from Rs 13.48 lakh to Rs 17.28 lakh. The Smart and Sharp petrol automatic variants cost Rs 15.68 lakh and Rs 17.18 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
