BS6 Maruti WagonR 1.0L Petrol Launched; Prices Increased
Maruti Suzuki has silently rolled out the BS6-compliant WagonR 1.0L petrol at a starting price of Rs 4.42 lakh (ex-showroom). Compared to its BS4 version, the new BS6 Maruti WagonR 1.0L petrol is around Rs 8,000 more expensive.
While the entry-level LXi and VXi variants are priced at Rs 4.42 lakh and Rs 4.87 lakh respectively, the LXi (O) aand VXi (O) cost Rs 4.49 lakh and Rs 4.94 lakh respectively. With the BS6 upgrade, the fuel economy of the Maruti WagonR 1.0L petrol has been dropped by 0.71kmpl. Now, it delivers a claimed mileage of 21.79kmpl. No other changes have been made to the car.
In June 2019, the Indo-Japanese carmaker introduced the BS6-compliant Maruti WagonR 1.2L petrol in the price range of Rs 5.10 lakh to Rs 5.91 lakh. Recently, the WagonR hatchback received 2 star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. It scored 6.93 points out of 17 and 16.33 points out of 49 for the adult and child occupant protection respectively.
The company will soon bring in a premium version of the WagonR hatchback that will be exclusively sold via Nexa dealerships. It could be named Maruti Suzuki XL5 sporting premium features and design bits over the regular WagonR.
