Maruti Suzuki India has rolled out the BS6-compliant CNG version of the S-Presso mini SUV. Launched as a part of the company’s Mission Green Million project, the BS6 Maruti S-Presso CNG has been made available in four variants LXi, LXi (O), VXi and VXi (O) – priced at Rs 4.84 lakh, Rs 4.90 lakh, Rs 5.07 lakh and Rs 5.13 lakh respectively. Powering the BS6 Maruti S-Presso CNG is a 1.0L petrol engine with a CNG kit. Its power and torque figures stand at 67bhp at 5,500rpm and 90Nm at 3,500rpm respectively. The model returns a claimed mileage of 31.2km/kg and has a tank capacity of 55-litres. The carmaker says that its S-CNG vehicles are boosted with dual interdependent ECUs (electronic control unit) and intelligent injection system. It enables model to deliver optimum performance and better drivability on different terrains.
No other changes have been made to the BS6 Maruti S-Presso CNG model. The LXi variant gets 13-inch steel wheels, power steering, sun visors, air conditioning unit, vehicle immobiliser, speed alert system, digital speedometer, front seatbelt reminders, rear parking sensors, driver airbag and ABS as standard features. The top-end VXi is exclusively offered with a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with voice recognition and smartphone connectivity (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), steering mounted controls, internal wing mirror adjustment, rear parcel tray, front seatbelt pre-tensioners, front passenger airbag, parking brake warning and body coloured wing mirrors and door handles.
