The BS6-compliant 2.0L oil burner will be tuned for generating three different power outputs – 140bhp, 160bhp and 185bhp. The same powertrain could be offered on the new-generation model of the SUV.
Currently, the Mahindra XUV500 is available with a 2.2L mHawk diesel engine pushing out power worth 155PS and 360Nm of torque. Read – All-New Mahindra 7-Seater SUV Coming Soon
The home-grown carmaker is also working on a 2.0L petrol engine that might come as a replacement to the recently discontinued 2.2L turbo petrol engine. The new gasoline motor will also meet the new BS6 emission norms.
Mahindra & Mahindra will soon give a generation change to the XUV500 SUV. The vehicle’s all-new model could make its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo that’s slated to begin on 7th February.
The 2020 Mahindra XUV500 will be based on an all-new platform and witness comprehensive design and feature changes along with a more powerful diesel engine.
Exterior changes might include newly-designed headlamps, a larger grille, sleeker airdam, a shark fin antenna, roof rails and revised taillamps.
Interior might see better material quality as we have seen on the Marazzo MPV. There could be more legroom for the second and third row passengers with better seat packing.
